Mt. Zion’s Communion Practice
The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church is administered in accordance with the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions. It is celebrated in the joyous confidence that we receive to our mouth, under the bread and wine, Christ’s true body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Besides individually receiving Christ’s gift of forgiveness in this sacrament, all those who commune at our alter also make a confession of the faith that we believe and teach in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS), thereby witnessing to our doctrinal unity in all the articles of the Gospel.
For this reason, if you are not a member of our congregation or a member of another congregation within the LCMS, we kindly ask you to arrange for a time to speak with Pastor Melius before communing. This is the historic practice of the LCMS and we thank you for honoring it.
If you desire to learn more about these beliefs, or if you are interested in learning how to become a member of this church, feel free to visit with our pastor.
